POLITICS TONIGHT (April 2010 version)

Tune: Comedy Tonight from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

 

 Financial bubble.  Greece is in trouble.

 Bailouts for Everybody.  Politics tonight.

 Bankers in Brussels flexing their muscles.

 Euros for everybody.  Politics tonight.

 

 Who will be next?  Italy, Ukraine,

 Poland, Romania, Ireland or Spain?

 Profligate nations.  Big obligations.

 They claim that bailouts are a right.

 Austerity tomorrow.  ALL: Politics tonight.

 

 Volcanic eruption.  Travel disruption.

 Bad news for passengers.  It's politics tonight.

 No one can travel.  Big plans unravel.

 Smoke getting in your eyes. It's politics tonight.

 Airlines complain they're all losing cash.

 And they say it's a pain in the ash.

 Revenues tumble.  Passengers grumble.

 How long before they catch a flight?

 Middle seat tomorrow.  ALL:  Politics tonight.

 

Stevens retiring before he's expiring.

Big fight to fill his seat.  It's politics tonight.

Big nomination.  Boys:  Big confrontation.

Posturing from everybody.  Politics tonight.

 

Tiger is cured and feels great remorse.

His swinging is now all on the course.

No more affliction.  No sex addiction.

No bimbos come to spend the night.

 

Fences need mending.  Solved by more spending.

Handouts keep mounting with no accounting.

The budget? Just fudge it.

The deficit? To heck with it.

Pour forth more pork.

Debits? Credit? Just forget it.

Play fast and loose with all of the facts.

When things go wrong just blame Goldman Sachs.

Go for the quick fix. Spend in all districts.

Stimulus?  That's still a great sound bite.

Reality tomorrow.

Politics tonight.
